New timetable information system for the Emilia Romagna region (PR)

Joint solution of IVU and HaCon is successful in Italy

Quick and convenient - that is the requirement for timetable enquiries in the Italian region of Emilia Romagna. The region has therefore opted for a solution offered jointly by IVU Traffic Technologies AG and HaCon; the infopool system developed by IVU will be used in combination with the Hafas timetable information system of HaCon. The new customer will be cared for by the branch of IVU in Italy.

In the Emilia Romagna region, infopool will improve the integration of the data from the regional public transport companies and the national railway company Trenitalia. Address-based queries of timetable data will in future be much easier and less complicated.

During the tendering phase, the system from IVU and HaCon was able to finish successfully ahead of two competitors. Meanwhile it has convinced with its rapid implementation. Only two months after signing the contract, the system was already operational. It is now in the test phase, and it will undergo further adaptations in the coming months in accordance with customer requirements.
