Figures for the first nine months of the financial year 2006 (PR)
"The fact that the gross profit has risen relative to the revenue is a good signal for a software house like IVU", explained Prof. Ernst Denert, Chairman and CEO of the Berlin IT company, on the occasion of today's meeting of the Supervisory Board. "The gross profit is an indicator of the actual value creation of the company. In the case of IVU most of this value is generated by the completion of projects, the development of software solutions, and the sale of licences. But the revenue is additionally influenced by third-party performances and material flows. In the case of IVU, these come primarily from the purchase and re-sale of hardware components for the i.box family of on-board computers, which pushes up the revenue while making a comparatively limited contribution to the gross profits and EBIT."
EBIT for the first nine months has also improved by € 0.4 million in a year-on-year comparison - and is currently at - € 0.9 million. The nine-month group loss of € 1.1 million is down on a small group profit in the same period of the previous year. But if allowance is made for a waived bank repayment in Q3 2005, then the nine-month group result in 2006 is also better than that for the corresponding period in the previous year.
"Overall, we see a stabilisation of the company. For us, so far, 2006 has been a good year", commented Prof. Ernst Denert. "The good order situation has led to us recruiting a number of highly qualified computer scientists and software engineers, in order to cope with the work. We are creating employment. And we expect a further increase in the fourth quarter."
The order books continue to look very good at the start of Q4. Some 95% of the planned revenues and some 93% of the planned gross profit in the current financial year are already accounted for by the work completed and outstanding orders.
Achieving revenues of above € 30 million and a gross profit of about € 25 million, in combination with a considerable improvement in EBIT, remain the company goals for 2006.
