New users for Qbase (PR)
Saar Transport Union introduces the integrated management system for its accounting, financial controlling and demand analysis, Further users are Müritz District and Nord-Ostsee Railway
Qbase, the IT solution from IVU Traffic Technologies AG for accounting, financial controlling and demand analysis, is gaining increasing numbers of users. This year the system has already been chosen by the Nord-Ostsee-Bahn, a transport company in the Veolia Group, by Müritz District, and by the Saar Transport Union. This means that the total number of transport operators and organisers that have decided to order Qbase has risen to thirteen. This easy-to-use management system is increasingly establishing itself as the standard. One of the new users is Müritz District. After the Müritz public transport utility began operations as a private company in April 2006, the Müritz district authority conclude a transport contract and set up a new body to order its public transport requirements. The district authority has chosen to introduce a compact system for its systems management and the financial controlling of the transport services on the basis of infopool and Qbase from IVU, and this is currently being installed. In future, all target datasets such as operational plans and network details will be recorded or imported with infopool, and then they will be brought together in Qbase with the actual performance results and evaluated on the basis of the contractual agreements. Müritz District expects that the new solution will provide considerably more transparency and accuracy in the accounting of public transport services, and that it will be easier to document how regionalisation funds have been utilised.
The public transport group Verkehrsverbund-Gesellschaft Saar mbH, which orders rail and bus services, will in future be using Qbase for the accounting and financial controlling of its transport contracts. The transport group will also be introducing additional Qbase modules this year for the planning, organisation, and evaluation of surveys of transport services. Instead of carrying out passenger surveys in Saarland manually, it will soon be possible to prepare these much more efficiently on the basis of timetable data and to carry out an electronic evaluation. The first IT-based transport survey is scheduled for November 2006.
Nord-Ostsee-Bahn (NOB) is another transport company that has opted for Qbase. After carrying out trial operations with Qbase, NOB has been using the system successfully in its daily operations since June 2006 as the first public transport company in the Veolia Group. They utilise this system to provide the contractually agreed certificates of performance and quality for the company ordering their services - LVS Schleswig-Holstein. At the same time, Qbase also supports the internal financial controlling system, for example monitoring the charges levied for station and track use by the rail network operator DB Netz, and allowing accurate data comparisons and evaluations.
IVU Traffic Technologies AG is a leading supplier of IT systems for planning, operating and optimising transport and logistics processes. 30 years of experience developing hardware and software systems for more than 300 public transport companies has also made IVU the market leader for IT solutions in other segments: monitoring truck fleets, setting up retail networks in geo-marketing, election processing. This is IVU's approach to transportation and beyond.
