Self-determined mobile to the World Games

Self-determined mobility! The Special Olympics World Games 2023 (SOWG) are in full swing - 7.000 athletes from 190 countries have travelled to Berlin for the Games. As part of the project "Olympklusion mit Bus & Bahn", VBB Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg GmbH and various partners have developed the apps VBB easy and VBB GuideMeGo. These apps are especially suitable for people with cognitive impairments and mobility limitations. The cooperation took place with HACON and Bischof IT as well as the athletes' interest groups, Human-Factors Consult and Sozialhelden e.V. With IVU.pool, IVU ensures, among other things, the data supply for the new image-based navigation through stations related to the venues. In particular, people who are unfamiliar with the area will be able to find their way around more easily with the help of the images and will thus be able to reach the venues of the competitions more easily by public transport.
