Business Development Manager (m/f/d) in France
We are looking for a Business Development Manager (m/f/d) in France
who knows the French rail market from the inside — and understands how decisions are made at rail operators, regional rail authorities, and urban transit networks.
who is ready to take full ownership of a market, working independently on the ground in France while staying tightly connected to a specialist team in Germany.
who wants their work to have a tangible impact: better-planned trains and buses mean more reliable journeys for millions of passengers every day.
Your tasks
You build and develop long-term relationships with decision-makers at French rail operators, regional transport authorities, and mobility organisations.
You present and demonstrate IVU's solutions — including crew and vehicle scheduling, and control centre systems — at client meetings, tender processes, and rail industry events.
You work closely with our engineers in Germany throughout the requirements and concept phase, translating client needs from the French rail context into concrete technical briefs.
You monitor the French rail market, track procurement pipelines and regulatory developments, and feed your insights directly into product management.
You lead and coordinate responses to RFPs and tenders, working closely with our engineering and product teams to develop compelling, technically sound proposals.
Your profile
You have extensive experience (about 10–15 years) in B2B sales or business development of complex software or technology solutions, with a clear focus on the rail or public transport sector.
You know the French rail landscape — its operators, institutional structures, and procurement processes — whether from a previous role at an operator, a transport authority, a technology provider, or a consulting firm.
You are comfortable being IVU's representative in France: you structure your own pipeline, take decisions closely aligned with IVU's team in Germany — proactively connecting with colleagues across our Berlin and Aachen offices to bring the right expertise to the right conversation.
You travel regularly within France for client meetings and industry events, and visit our German offices several times a year to stay embedded in the team.
You communicate fluently in French and English; German is a plus.
