Our contribution to climate neutrality
At IVU, our commitment to active climate protection drives us to make a significant impact on advancing our society's journey towards climate neutrality. Our approach relies on IVU.suite’s integrated IT systems - these tools support public transport companies to reduce CO₂ emissions by enabling sustainable mobility and therefore promote climate protection.

Public transport
as an environmentally friendly mobility option
Our systems ensure seamless and efficient public transport for transport companies in Germany, Europe and all over the world – enhancing attractiveness and passenger satisfaction globally. With the IVU.suite products, we champion sustainable public transport choices, such as bus and train travel, while assisting transport companies in curbing emissions across their entire operation.

Numerous measures are being taken to reduce CO₂ emissions in everyday working life. Our focus here is on employee mobility and energy consumption. The option of mobile working means that commuting can be minimised and existing spatial resources can be used more efficiently and sustainably. To achieve this, we provide employees with office equipment for working from home, for example. Our employees are encouraged to use public transport as often as possible. Unavoidable business air travel is offset by the non-profit organisation ‘atmosfair’. In terms of energy consumption, care is taken to ensure that energy is saved through efficient systems. On the other hand, the proportion of environmentally friendly energy is being continuously increased.
IV Foundation
for People, Nature, and Climate Protection
In 2022, Prof. Dr. Herbert Sonntag and Dr. Manfred Garben, alongside their families, founded the IVU Foundation for People, Nature, and Climate Protection. This non-profit initiative uses the assets acquired from their IVU shares for a good purpose. The foundation is dedicated to securing the natural foundations of life for future generations and to promoting social inclusion projects.
Efficient use of resources
to minimise waste
At IVU we use our resources carefully and strive for a circular economy. Our emphasis lies in optimising the recycling of internal operational resources and creating partnerships with sustainability-driven suppliers. Due to office activities, commercial waste and the hardware used by employees are the main waste products.
Our goals
Increase how much we recycle
We always ensure that all materials are recycled – consumables such as plastic and cardboard packaging waste are separated on site and sent to be recycled, while e-waste is sent to specialised service providers who dispose of the devices properly. As we do not manufacture any equipment ourselves in our own production facilities, no resources are consumed for producing hardware.
Work with sustainable suppliers
When working with suppliers, we always ensure compliance with basic standards for resource-saving production. In particular, the hardware part of the system solutions should be as long-lasting possible. Together with our suppliers, we therefore ensure that spare parts are available for up to ten years and also offer repair services for defective hardware.

The climate targets are clearly defined. Germany aims to be climate-neutral by 2045. We are contributing to this by reducing emissions in our own business operations and in the day-to-day business of our customers.
