Smart ticketing solution for flexible public transport

Whether using a smartcard, credit card, or bank card, the solution is based on proven EMV technology and uses standard payment cards (e.g. credit or debit cards) as the means of identification. The journey is automatically detected, the lowest fare is calculated, and the purchase is processed via the payment provider – all without manual intervention. At the same time, the solution meets the highest security standards: by using EMV Transit Schemes, it is tamper-proof and fraud-resistant.

Account-Based Ticketing is fully integrated into the IVU.suite and can be seamlessly connected to existing sales systems and ticket control solutions. All customer accounts, journeys, and payments are managed centrally, ensuring not only transparency but also significantly improved operational efficiency. Paper-based processes and the handling of closed-loop cards are completely eliminated – all procedures are digital and automated.

The workload for sales staff is also reduced: Purchases are passenger-operated, and ABT check-in is carried out via IVU validators or the IVU.ticketbox. Modern tools such as the IVU.handheld are available for ABT inspection, enabling drivers and service personnel to verify journey status at any time – quickly, securely, and reliably, even while on the move. This is complemented by a web portal offering passengers comprehensive information and self-service features.
